# Task cards

Create and edit tasks, add Markdown descriptions and attachments, and move work between lists.

## Create a card

A card is a task on your project's board. Lists group cards by stage, such as To Do or Done.

1. Open the project's **Tasks** section.
2. Choose **Add a card** in the destination list.
3. Enter a title and select **Add card**. The card is now saved.
4. Open the card to add a Markdown description or choose another list.
5. Select **Save changes** to save those edits.

Use a short action for the title, such as “Add password reset”, and put acceptance criteria or research in the description. **Preview** shows the formatted description; **Write** returns to editing.

## Attach files

In a card's details, use **Add attachment** or drop files into its attachment area. A card supports up to ten attachments, each up to 10 MB. New attachments are pending until the card saves; wait for upload completion before leaving.

Remove an attachment from the draft and save to update the card. File attachments belong to that card; use **Assets** when a file should live at the project level instead.

## Move and reorder cards

Drag a card within its list to reorder it, or into another list to change its stage. For keyboard access, open the card's menu and choose **Move card up**, **Move card down**, or **Move to list**. You can also choose **In list** while editing the card.

Moving or reordering a card saves immediately. Changes in the card editor remain a draft until you save. If you leave with unsaved changes, choose **Save changes**, **Discard draft**, or **Keep editing**.

## Search and delete

Use **Search cards** to filter the board. Counts can show matching cards against the total in a list; clear the search to see the whole board.

Choose **Delete card** from its menu or editor, then confirm. Deletion permanently removes the card. Keep useful decisions in a project document before deleting work you may need later.

If Orbit reports a revision conflict, another window or AI client has changed the project since you opened it. Use **Reload tasks**, compare your draft with the current board, and then retry. Copy any text you need to keep before closing a draft.
