Edit details and organisation
Right-click a project in the sidebar or dashboard and choose Edit project. Change its name, description, icon, status, and tags, then select Save changes. To cancel a draft, choose Cancel and confirm discarding if prompted.
Select the icon to switch between initials, an emoji, and an uploaded image. Tags help group work across statuses: for example, “Client A”, “Internal”, or “Website”. Use the same tag on related projects so you can filter them together.
You can change status directly from the project header or project context menu. To define the available statuses and their order, use Project statuses settings.
Duplicate a project
- Open the project context menu.
- Select Duplicate project.
- Review the confirmation and duplicate it.
- Open the copy and edit its details.
Duplication copies documents, tasks, assets, and secrets. Repository links and local folder paths are retained. It does not clone or copy the source code, so both projects can still point to the same folders. Relink the copy if it should refer to a separate checkout. A duplicate counts as another saved project.
Archive and restore
Choose Mark archived from project actions, or use the archive controls in Edit project. Archiving keeps the project and its content; its status becomes Archived. Archived is a built-in status.
To restore, open the archived project’s edit screen and choose Restore project. Orbit returns it to its previous status. If you have also edited the project details in that form, archiving or restoring saves those edits too.
Archived projects still count toward Free’s three-project allowance. Use a status filter when you want to view archived work separately.
Remove a project
Choose Delete project from its context menu, or Remove project in the edit screen’s danger zone, and confirm the project name.
This permanently removes the project and its saved Orbit content. Local source folders and remote repositories remain intact. Export a workspace archive before removal if you need the saved project content later; vault secrets need a separate export.
